Being right by the beach made everything easy. The owners were wonderful and always ready to help, and the apartments were clean and roomy enough whether you’re staying a few days or longer. A great spot in Palaíkastro.

We decided to stay on the spur of the moment, and the waiter at Grande helped us get hold of the owner. It was all very straightforward, and the beach is only a few steps away.

We were very comfortable here. The apartment had lots of space and was nicely furnished, and Katharina was so kind. She welcomed us with raki and cake, and we ended up chatting with her every day. It’s tucked among olive trees, about five minutes from the beach and ten from the nearest village, where there are lovely tavernas. Such a peaceful place.

Our apartment had a little terrace facing the sea and olive trees, plus air conditioning, Wi-Fi and private parking. It was quiet, very clean and comfortable, with a delicious taverna right beside it, GRAND Restaurant. The water was only about 20 seconds away on foot. We arrived unexpectedly at the last minute and were glad to get a night in the apartment closest to the sea. In September 2022 the beach was empty, especially early in the morning, when swimming felt almost like having the whole world to yourself. There were no rows of umbrellas or loungers, and mass tourism doesn’t seem to reach this far across the island, which I liked. The price was very reasonable. I’ll be back!
