Oniro Luxury Suites in Pargatown

I’ll remember that week in March for a long time. I was there with my husband for his 60th birthday, just before the season began, and our sea-view apartment at Oniro luxury suits looked out over the picturesque harbour. The view was wonderful, and the bed was super comfortable. I loved coming back after a swim to take a hot shower with constant hot water, then sit on the balcony with my Irish Lyons tea and watch the world go by. The apartment is above "Oscar pizza", right on a waterfront lined with restaurants and bars, so I imagine the feel is very different at the height of summer. Off season, though, it felt like watching a big production being rehearsed. Locals were painting, fixing things, and getting ready for the season. Restaurants were full of locals chatting, with children running about. Enough craft shops and places to eat were open to keep things interesting. We also found some lovely supermarkets, and I cooked many meals with fresh market vegetables and meat and fish from the butcher and fishmonger. There was even a lovely fisherman selling fresh fish on the pier. We walked through lemon groves to a little Orthodox church on one of the surrounding hills, and swam at some fabulous beaches with no sunbeds or umbrellas in sight. Efi was a perfect hostess, quick to respond to every request. Just know there’s a very steep flight of stairs and no lift. I’m an unfit 66-year-old woman and managed them, so I think most people will be fine. Thanks, Efi, for such a memorable stay. You’re a real treasure.

Efi was so welcoming, nice, and helpful. The apartment had everything you could think of, from an iron and ironing board to a kettle and coffee machine. And the view and location right in the center were just perfect. Everything you need is right at your feet.

The host was more than accommodating, and the view from Oniro is a dream: the port, the fortress, and all the rocks around the bay. It’s a small hotel with four nicely renovated rooms, and the attention to detail is impressive. From the balcony you can watch the busy street in the evening or head down to the taverns right below. We had really good, varied fish at the green terrace, which has upstairs tables just to the left as you look out from the balcony. Oskar, the terrace below the balcony, was also much appreciated for its pizza, pasta, and salads. People were extremely nice, the small boats to the beaches, river, blue cave, and more leave from the port 100m away, and the shopping streets are 10m behind the hotel. I can’t think what else you’d want.

Right by the water, the suites are newly renovated and just steps from the pier. You’re in the heart of Parga, with plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. Cars can’t get to the property, but public parking is only a simple five-minute walk away.
