Breakfast was a highlight, with an amazing range for a small hotel: fresh fruit, cereals, bread baskets and pastries, cooked breakfast, halloumi, pancakes, waffles and more. The food was lovely, and the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful even with some grumpy guests around. The dining area is a little small, so covered, heated outdoor space would help when it rains at this time of year. We also had secure parking for our rental car. The pools were great. We spent a couple of days at the main one and a couple by the pool outside our block, where we could bring our own drinks, unlike at the main pool. The areas beside the pools could be finished better than plain concrete, and the steps into the pool were loose and wobbly. The over-water beds are shaded, and their top material can't be moved, so they’re less useful than they look. Being able to pull it back for sun would make them better. Our room was spacious and clean. The balcony hot tub is really a large bath with jets that needs refilling each time, but with some planning it was still enjoyable. The two single beds pushed together weren't ideal for a romantic trip, and the bathroom needs more towel hooks. The safe should be fixed to the wall as well. This is a new hotel with a few things to iron out, including a fire alarm that kept going off, thankfully not in the middle of the night. I think they're working hard on the early issues. It was a good stay and I'd be happy to return.

The place felt relaxing during the day and lively at night, with friendly staff who made everyone feel welcome. We had a fantastic 11 days at Anna Island Hotel. The pools were big and beautiful, and the accommodation was spacious, spotless, and well maintained. There were fun things to join in with in the evenings, including Ouzo Bingo, Karaoke, and Quiz nights. I honestly didn't want to leave, and would definitely stay again.

The bed was two singles, so we asked reception to join them. They said they’d use a topper, but it wasn’t done until we asked again the next day, and the sheets didn’t fit the topper. Our premium poolside room was in an awful shaded spot, so at the end of September and start of October we could hardly use it before late afternoon. There was no access from our pool to the others. Other blocks had areas on the far side, while ours faced a wall, with guests and staff using the edge as a shortcut up the hill. One side was another room and the other an infinity edge. We were extremely disappointed and spent nice days at the main pool instead. The room did have useful touches: a well equipped setup, comfy pillows, and a mattress topper once sorted. Touch pads on both sides of the bed controlled all the lights, the curtains were electric, and the air conditioning was excellent and individually controlled. The tap had a hole, but it was replaced quickly. The matte black toilet seat looked stained and unsightly, even though I knew the maid had been in. Jet2 said robes and slippers would be provided, but there were no robes, and we only found slippers at the back of a shelf. They also said there were USB chargers, but there weren't any. We were told towels were provided, but had to ask reception. The loungers were large with big, comfortable cushions, and the staff were friendly. Cocktails were excellent, with drinks service around the pool. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was good quality. We went half board, though Jet2 charged more for the upgrade than the 15 euro I’d seen others say you could get it for. I can’t remember the exact extra cost, but it wasn’t a lot. It would have been nice to have the option. People selfishly reserved loungers with towels before breakfast, often on the same premium beds, though there were plenty available at any time. We didn't want loud music or foam parties, and I think they need to decide which age group they’re aiming for. Some guests complained there weren't activities, but that would be my worst nightmare. There wasn’t really a bar at night, which was disappointing. You could get drinks in the restaurant, but most people had moved on by then and sometimes we were the only ones. The resort has plenty of restaurants, but again, no real bars. The site is spread out and uphill to the bar and main pool, so people with mobility issues may want to reconsider.

The spacious rooms were pleasant for our week, and the central pool, bar, and restaurant are beautifully designed. Some of the restaurant staff were lovely, professional, and welcoming. Still, the hotel was a letdown beneath the surface. It had been revamped in April, but felt poorly built and dirty, and some staff were very rude. There was no entertainment. From the photos it looks like a 4-star place, but it didn't live up to that.

We visited in the colder season and asked for a room upgrade with a hot tub. The front desk arranged it straight away, without any trouble. Every staff member we met went out of their way to make things comfortable and enjoyable, and their genuine care stood out. The resort exceeded our expectations. We’d happily return and recommend it for a getaway.
