Kopana Resort

We'd been here three years ago and loved how peaceful it was, especially for the price. This time we spent three nights in a two-bedroom apartment and left disappointed. The place has a lot of potential, which makes the deterioration sad. The apartments need maintenance, and it doesn't look like it's been done in a long time. There was a sewage smell, and some furniture was falling apart and needs replacing. I know this part of Greece has become more popular in recent years with growing numbers of Balkan visitors, but that doesn't excuse the decline. The kitchen was very poorly equipped too, and we even had to ask for a kitchen knife and a toaster.

The architecture and design are pleasing, and the lush surroundings give the place a quiet, secluded feel. We also enjoyed the distant sea view. The beautiful building and natural setting make it a special property, but the upkeep and cleanliness fell short. The facilities felt noticeably outdated and in need of major maintenance, with no recent improvements apparent. From the start, the bathroom water wouldn't drain properly. Each time we used the bathroom or toilet, it overflowed and spread through the apartment, making things frustrating and unsanitary. We contacted the host several times, but the response wasn't adequate. They helped clean up after the flooding instead of fixing the underlying issue, which remained unresolved throughout our stay.

The pool and bar are beautiful, and breakfast was incredible. All the staff made us feel very welcome. We stayed four nights in September '24. The rooms were large and good value for what we paid, though a shower curtain in the bathroom might have helped. The resort itself is quite busy, but a short drive up the road to kopana takes you somewhere peaceful and picturesque. The views and tranquility there were hard to beat. I hope I can return one day!

Beaches and restaurants aren't close enough to walk to, but they're easy to reach by car. The owners were friendly and helpful. The rooms were ordinary, but clean, with all the necessary equipment, working air conditioning, and regular cleaning. The accommodation is set in fantastic surroundings.
