Santorini Breeze

For Santorini, it’s good value. Everything was clean, the woman at reception was really nice and friendly, and the beach is a very short walk away. But I was put off by the owner’s brother hanging around and trying to sell transfers. A normal private car to the pier costs 40 euros, and he offered me one for 25. That seemed good until I saw a couple being charged 30 euros together when we left, while I had paid 25. It felt like a typical Santorini rip-off. They just can’t get enough. Behaviour like that only hurts the hotel itself. I hope that extra money was worth it.

The location near the beach, nice shops, and restaurants was the one good thing. I’d expected a hostel with some atmosphere, but it wasn’t like that at all. There were more families than young people. The beds were really uncomfortable, and both the bathroom and pool could’ve been cleaner. The guy at reception was nice, though, and arranged a transfer for me. Sorry to leave the hostel this kind of review.

It was a beautiful, calm, and relaxing place, with a spacious, clean room and an outdoor seating area looking out over the mountains. The beach is an easy walk, and there’s a bus stop nearby. We took the bus from the port to Fera, then from Fera to the stop near the property. The owner was very helpful, recommending a delicious, affordable restaurant for dinner and booking a taxi so we could catch our ferry the next morning.

The pool is a big plus, and the room was generally okay. Cleaning came every day, and the sheets were nice and clean, though the sprung mattresses weren’t very comfortable. Some electrical sockets were loose and out of place, which seemed a bit dangerous, especially in the bathroom. Momo will do his best to help if you need anything. It would’ve been nice to have a breakfast option.
