I’m reviewing the bar specifically, not the hotel. Whenever we’re in Petra, we make sure to spend at least two evenings here. It’s a lively social spot as much as a bar, and the owners make everyone feel welcome. There’s a great range of drinks, and we always leave smiling, ready to come back with the same smile.

Petra has great food and bars, and remains unspoilt, with people as friendly and welcoming as you could hope for. Our week at Blue Sky left me wishing we’d booked two weeks or more. Andonis and his family were perfect hosts, the apartments were spotless and spacious, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the pool was a real joy. By day four, I’d already booked to return in September. A taste of the real Greece, and I hope it stays that way.

The pool has improved a lot since my first visit 13 years ago. Blue Sky remains a favorite for Petra visitors, thanks to the hard work of Andonis and his family. The airy rooms have air conditioning, which was essential with temperatures hitting 35c during our stay. It cost just €7 per day. The bar area is friendly, and Andonis and Gunter are always there to refill an empty glass. Great spot, just steps from the sea.

The atmosphere is lively, and the bar is run expertly. The staff are fantastic, and everyone gets drawn into the conversation so nobody sits by themselves. It’s a great hotel with a pool too. I’ve stayed twice already and plan to come back.
