Mousses Houses

Very nice rooms, and very nice people.

The place is peaceful, with little light pollution, so it’s easy to relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature. The owner and his 8-year-old son showed us the room and were both really helpful and friendly. We had no problems during our stay. It’s handy for Petra’s centre, though it’s not right in the middle. You can walk in if you’re travelling without children, but having a car makes it easier with kids. I’d choose it again next time.

We rented three houses for one night, and they weren’t all at the same standard for renovation or hygiene. The beds were generally comfortable, and the rooms had towels, slippers, and the other basics. Petra is about five minutes away. The last stretch means turning onto a side road, but it’s paved.

We stayed July 4-6, 2023, in one of the independent houses. The garden has peach and pear trees, and it was lovely to pick fruit and eat it straight from the branches. The houses were very clean. When we arrived, the air conditioner was leaking and the Wi-Fi wasn’t working, but Yannis sorted out both problems right away. Yannis and his brother Leonidas were warm hosts and great to chat with. They even spotted us on the road when we arrived and left, and gave us a lift to where we were going. On the map the property seems a little outside Petra, but the coast is only a five-minute walk away. It’s a quiet spot near the centre, which would suit families with children.
