Poseidon Beach Hotel

The beach was good and the rooms were clean, though noisy. We lost sleep on at least two nights because of the wind. There’s a nice area for sitting outside, but meals were served inside even when it was over 25+ degrees and pleasant outdoors. The restaurant was hot too, with no air conditioning. It felt like the idea was to get us to eat quickly and leave. There was no restaurant music, only what came from the kitchen. We were on an organized vacation with other people, and it felt as if groups weren’t supposed to get good food. We felt treated like second-hand people. Another group of Greek tourists waited for us to finish so they could come in, and we were hurried out, even though there was enough room for everyone. The food for the Greek tourists seemed quite different from ours, which was sad. I paid in advance for breakfast and dinner, so I couldn’t decline dinner, but the food was bad. Maybe people who pay separately are happy with it, but once you’ve tasted it, I don’t think you’d want to order more. I hope this wasn’t your first trip to Greece and you know how delicious Greek food can be. The hotel could be good if there were more staff like the one waiter who was very polite and helped take our food outside for dinner. The next day, another server told us they weren’t allowed to take food outside. It’s summer in Greece, and you can’t eat outside? A salad was for two people and dessert was for four, just one dish of fruit. The salad wasn’t tasty at all. We visit Greece often and have never experienced such poor service. Breakfast was the worst we’ve had in Greece. They even served margarine, there was no coffee machine, and the options were Turkish coffee or American coffee, which was like black water. I love Greece, its delicious food and hospitality, but I’d stay away from this place if you don’t want your holiday ruined. You’ve been warned.
