Athenarum Portus Pireas

The area around the port gates is probably not the nicest place to be at night, though it felt fine in daylight. The hotel itself was new, clean, and stylish, and the staff were great. Breakfast was adequate, as shown in the pictures. Gates E8 and E7 are right nearby, so it’s convenient for ferry trips to or from Pireus Port. Taxis, public transport, and the X96 airport bus are also close.

The staff were excellent, kind, and always ready to help, with recommendations that were genuinely useful. The rooms were clean and I enjoyed breakfast. Still, I expected better value for what I paid. In Room 308, the short glass shower panel and lack of a curtain meant the bathroom got wet throughout, and the ventilation fan didn't work properly, leaving the room damp. It also looked onto a construction site, which detracted from the view and stay.

The room was clean, the reception staff were helpful, and the location suited catching a ferry. We stayed one night. We took breakfast to go, but the fancy box had very little in it and wasn't worth the money unless you're on a diet. I wouldn't bother with it.

The neighborhood didn't feel good, and there weren't many decent places to eat compared with central Athens. The hotel is close to the ferries, but I'd choose central Athens and take an Uber instead. Breakfast was fine. We paid for two nights but left early because the AC wouldn't work properly, cycling between 26 and 22 all night, and the service didn't inspire confidence. We'd never before left prepaid nights. The picture outside the hotel was taken at 7:25, when there were hardly any people around and little was open.
