Hotel Ideal

A lovely family-run hotel with an authentic feel. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. It’s close to the centre of Pireaus and the port, and we had a pleasant stay for great value.

The room was clean, which was a relief after we left the hotel a couple of blocks away that we’d first booked because of its mattresses. The staff at Ideal let us look around before checking in, so we could make sure we felt comfortable. The mattress was pristine. Everyone was friendly, and we could get coffee before our early-morning ferry.

My friend and I stayed for one night and felt at home from the moment we arrived. The reception staff were amazing, and there were welcome candies in the room, which I loved. It was great value and the beds were amazing. We even got slippers, a nice touch, though I didn’t use them. I’ve stayed in 3* hotels that didn’t offer slippers. I recommend it!

I was travelling alone as a woman and stayed the day and night before a cruise. The hotel was very clean, and my single room had plenty of space and great AC. The staff were friendly and helpful. I left my sunglasses behind, and they found them and kept them safe until I could collect them a week later. It was good value for money. I didn’t go out at night, but felt fine about the location during the day. Turn right out of the hotel to reach a more main road and avoid the back streets if you want. An Uber to port terminal B cost about €5. I’d definitely stay again before or after a cruise.
