Piazza Castello

A very friendly bartender and host. From the terrace on the walk up to the castle, you get amazing sunset views. At midnight, they showed a Belgian how rakomelo is prepared and drunk.

The view and location are incredible, but after four nights I’m not sure I’d recommend staying here. The room wasn’t comfortable or pleasant. You have to plug in the noisy air conditioner each time you enter, and it takes ages to cool the room. The towels feel like hard sandpaper, the shower drains poorly and leaves a musty smell, the Wi-Fi is awful, and the TV has no English options or streaming. Bathroom lighting is atrocious, and without a full-length mirror, getting dressed and doing makeup was difficult. They only provided one bottle of water for the whole stay. Since the room is up stairs on a hill, getting clean drinking water isn’t easy. That was my biggest complaint. Please, just give us a bottle a day. It can’t cost more than a dollar. I wouldn’t want to spend time in the room, and next time I’d stay somewhere else.

The staff are the friendliest and give you the best service. They really made us feel at home. We had cocktails, Magners, shots and, of course, pinsa one night, liked it so much that we came back every evening for drinks. Definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to grab a takeaway cocktail on your way to the castle for sunset.

The hosts were the warmest and friendliest pair we’ve met, and the place is beautiful. They make the best Greek coffee. It’s close to a lovely sunset spot by the castle, though getting to the nearest beach takes about a 30-minute walk.
