The room we got didn’t match the advert, and that was especially upsetting on our honeymoon. Instead of a double bed, there were four single beds. The host’s mother suggested putting a cushion between them, but the beds kept sliding apart every night. The furniture was dated, and the locks didn’t work properly, so it took us five minutes to get into the room each time we returned. The air conditioning in the main bedroom didn’t reach the living room. We turned on the second unit so we could sit comfortably there, then stopped using it as soon as we were asked. We tried to stay polite and positive throughout, but the room simply wasn’t what we’d paid for. Afterward, the hosts left us a nasty, untrue review, calling us “dirty” and accusing us of things we hadn’t done. We’d actually made an extra effort to wash the dishes and put away the rubbish so it wasn’t left out. Given what had happened, that felt very unfair and unkind. We booked at the last minute and had a very disappointing stay. We don’t recommend this place: the hosts were dishonest and the room wasn’t as advertised. I honestly could care less what they reply. They’ve tainted our honeymoon.
