The owner lives right downstairs and turned out to be one of the warmest, most welcoming people we’ve met. We had a great time with him, and I hope he and his family are always blessed. The apartment has what you need for a longer stay, a lovely breeze, and a great sea view even though the sea is farther away. Olive groves nearby make for relaxing walks. You’ll need a car to stay here, though. Watch out for Google Maps: it sends you toward a road that doesn’t exist and would go along a cliff. The owner and several guests, me included, have reported it, but Google hasn’t removed it yet. Follow the street signs instead of the app, and check my map photo for the green safe route. This was the standout place on our trip. We’ll definitely come back and recommend it to others.

The balcony sunset was astonishing, and the host, Despina, was lovely. The place was always clean and very comfortable, and she brought us really good food too. I’ll come back one day and won’t even consider staying somewhere else.

Falassarna bay looked wonderful from the huge balcony, and the view was even better than the photos. It was quiet, cozy, well equipped, and spotless. Despina is a great host, attentive and always sharing her homemade treats. One of my best stays in Crete. Would I come back? Absolutely.

We needed a car to get there, but it was easy enough to find with GPS, and signs point the way for the last half kilometer. The apartment was well built and the fittings were good quality. The friendly family made us feel welcome, and the plates of local food they gave us to try were outstanding, adding something special to an already lovely location. Five stars don’t really do Riza apartments justice. My advice: book it, you won’t be disappointed.
