Myconian Ambassador Hotel Relais & Chateaux

The $100 American Express hotel credit was one reason we booked, but the manager wouldn’t let us use it. That was frustrating, especially with the lack of clear communication. We’d been told this was a “fine hotel and resort” by American Express, but the experience felt more like a budget motel. We paid for a room advertised as ocean-view and expected the panoramic outlook described when booking. Instead, the view was only partial and nowhere near what was represented, so it didn’t feel worth the premium. The room was small, old, worn, and neglected, with an aging ceiling-mounted air conditioner that looked and sounded decades old. The bathroom also had a persistent bad smell, which made the room uncomfortable and raised concerns about upkeep and cleanliness. The property itself is outdated and needs significant renovation, and its limited amenities didn’t meet the advertised standard. Customer service was disappointing from arrival through our stay. The front desk, especially Efi, seemed unfriendly, unhelpful, and uninterested in our concerns. A welcoming, professional reception is a basic expectation at a resort, and we didn’t get that. Given the price, condition, limited amenities, misleading room description, and poor service, this was one of my most disappointing hotel stays. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone seeking a real resort experience.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and breakfast was so good. Our room was spacious, comfortable, modern, and pretty, and the whole hotel looked lovely. It felt like a five-star stay, the best hotel I can remember staying at. Make use of the hotel transport: they charge a very reasonable flat fee, so you don’t have to deal with random taxi drivers.

We spent three nights here, and the place was beautiful, peaceful, and immaculate. The food and service felt pure luxury. It’s about 15 minutes from all the action, but well worth the extra trip.

We had a room with a balcony, and everything felt top tier, especially the service and breakfast. The hotel is a few miles from the main town, but the beach is a short walk away and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Absolutely recommend it.
