The Captain's House Boutique Hotel

Right in the middle of everything, just a block from the water. This is a sweet little boutique hotel, with clean rooms, a great breakfast, and staff who were super friendly.

The town quay is just a short step away, and the Sailors Monument beach is an easy walk of about 10 minutes. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and shops too. We especially recommend the Kalofagas grill and rotisserie. During our stay of just over a week in late November, we found the staff friendly and helpful, and there was nothing negative that came to mind. The room was very comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed. There’s parking behind the hotel, plus a lovely sitting room downstairs. Breakfast is included as a buffet with lots of choice. Guests can also help themselves to coffee, tea, bottled water, and fruit in the dining room throughout the day. We loved staying here and would happily recommend it.

We often visit Preveza, but we won't stay at this hotel again. We booked two nights in March and had a miserable night's sleep in a ground-floor room that felt hot and humid. Opening the window didn't help because loud music continued until 1:00 am, so we closed it and switched on the air conditioning. It only blew hot air, and the hotel told me the AC was turned off for winter. Given those conditions, we decided to leave after one night and asked the owner to refund the second. He agreed and asked us to arrange it through Booking.com, and both the hotel and Booking.com confirmed the agreement. We still haven't received the refund. Booking.com says the hotel hasn't been responding to its calls or emails. The whole thing feels like very sharp practice.
