A lovely place, and our hosts couldn’t have done more for us.

I called on 15/11 to book for 22-24/11 and sent a €40 deposit. Two days later, on 17/11, I had to cancel because of another obligation. I was told the deposit would only be returned if they found another booking. A week passed without an update, so I sent a text that got no reply. When I called three days after that, they said they couldn’t refund me.

The rooms are small, and the triple room has one single bed and a double bunk. There’s a strong damp smell; they could air the place out better or use dehumidifiers to deal with it. We asked to change our arrival date for health reasons, but they charged us for an extra day and acted as if they didn’t understand. It also definitely isn’t pet-friendly as advertised. We were charged €100 to "repair" a door scratched by our dogs, even though the damage wasn’t visible and should cost at most €30 to fix. If a place advertises itself as pet-friendly, you shouldn’t have to worry about them lurking outside your room to see what your dogs might do. We paid €240 for two nights that should have cost €95 in total. A little courtesy might have kept me from writing this review.

I’d give this zero stars if I could. They forgot to switch on the hot water the first morning, so I got into the bathtub, froze, and got out at 7:00 without being able to wash. They only remembered after I messaged them. The radiators were off the next day too, and again I had to message before they remembered. They’d said there would be coffee in the mornings, but there wasn’t. There are signs of a coffee or tea maker in every room, and the website says breakfast is available. Instead of apologizing, they charged €2 for a freddo espresso at their cafe. The room was far too small, packed with old furniture, and smelled of humanity. The worst stay of my life. Never again.
