Getting back after dinner means walking up the hill, so it’s a bit of exercise, but the location is great. The staff were friendly and helpful, from reception to the cleaning team. Breakfast is quite simple and served outdoors, where ants sometimes come near the food. If you arrive late, some drinks may have run out, and refills can take a while.

That view from the room made the climb worthwhile. The hotel sits on a hill, so coming back from the beach restaurants means a walk or climbing 100 steps. We stayed three nights; the room was spotless and had thoughtful touches like a bedside USB port, plus a complimentary bottle of wine. Breakfast was nice, and check-in took at most 3 minutes after a very warm welcome.

The walk into Pythagoreio is the hard part: it’s only about a half mile, but the road feels treacherous and the long stairs are dangerous going both down and up. You need to be fit to stay here. The small, fairly new hotel has pleasant little rooms and comfy beds. Breakfast is outside by the pool. For dinner you have to head into town, and there aren’t taxis waiting around.

We had a quiet week at Lithos, and slept easily. It’s a 5 min walk to the beach and restaurants, and we truly recommend it. The renovated hotel was very clean, and all the staff were friendly and service minded. Each morning the ladies at the pool bar saw us coming and prepared glutenfree bread for me. For my 30th birthday, the hotel manager surprised me with fruit and bubbles in our room.
