Potokaki Beachfront Hotel

The comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms were the only good parts. We stayed three nights, and as a couple who travel a lot, this was probably the most uncomfortable place we’ve ever stayed. Breakfast was incredibly poor, and our room was never cleaned during those three days. We got no fresh towels and the trash wasn’t emptied. Breakfast was meant to run until 10:30, but when we came down at 10:00, they switched off the drink machine right in front of us, as if to stop us taking anything. Sandra was unpleasant to guests who arrived a little later, with no smile and constant sour looks. We felt so uncomfortable that we even cleared our own plates. There’s a beach, but no basic service there, not even a bottle of water. Honestly, this was the worst money we spent in Samos.

Juliet, who handled our check-in, was fabulous, and the two rooms in the renovated section were lovely. The single room in the unrenovated section was very average. We had an almost fabulous stay, but breakfast varied a lot and often ran out for anyone arriving later in the service window. The main thing that spoiled it was Sandra, an extremely rude and condescending staff member. After telling us at check-in that we could use the facilities freely, she made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. She took photos of us having pre-dinner drinks in the common area, hid glasses from us, and often walked by with a sour, unhappy look that made us feel we’d done something wrong. We left the area meticulously arranged each time, even offering to wash our glasses. We only used it two or three times during our stay and never after 7:30 in the evening. She also told us she dislikes Samos, which seems a very strange thing for a hospitality worker there to say. In my opinion, she shouldn’t be working here, for the sake of other guests and the hotel’s longer-term success. She completely changed what could have been a delightful stay.

We had a wonderful five-day stay. The rooms were clean, the staff were extremely friendly, and we enjoyed every moment of our holiday.

For two weeks, I had a fantastic stay. The reception was welcoming, the sea was crystal clear, breakfast was tasty, and there were good restaurants nearby. It was easy to get to the city, port, and airport from this convenient location. Thanks for a great holiday!
