Domenica Apartments

The beach is just 100m away, with both sand and stones. When the north wind comes in July or August, the waves get big enough that getting out of the sea can be harder than getting in. Nearby, Kritikos is a large supermarket with nearly everything, and there are plenty of tavernas. Manolis and 1+1 were our favorites. The staff were fantastic and especially helpful, and Sofia was so kind. Our room was clean and tidied every day, with towels, shower gel, and a cold bottle of water waiting for us. The kitchen is pretty minimal: there's a microwave, electric kettle, mini electric cooker, and fridge. The pool was clean, though it had a bit too much chlorine.

We had a good beach break and liked being able to prepare our own food. The accommodation is basic, but great value, with good beds and new facilities.

We found the staff friendly, helpful, and respectful, and could borrow an umbrella or use the pool toys for free when they were available. The location worked well for us, with a five-minute walk to both the bus stop and the beach. The apartment felt like it was from the 90s, though it was quiet. We weren't happy with the cleaning: towels and sheets were changed every day, but the floor didn't seem to get swept or mopped. The swimming facilities were very accessible and almost always empty. The gym at Artistea hotel was extremely basic, with one multigym machine and dumbbells up to 12kg. The other pool at Artistea hotel was also available, but busier.

Everything else was good, but our room smelled of cigarettes, which wasn't great with children. Breakfast was great and the sea was amazing. For sunbeds, you need to buy drinks at the hotel bar for 4eur, then take the ticket to the beach for the beds and umbrella. They also give you a bottle of water per person there.
