The biggest problem was the food. Breakfast had very little choice, and what was there was often cold, burnt, overcooked, or just modest. There was little fruit, and by 9 o'clock there was nothing hot. Dinner was worse, with only three dishes to pick from. My duck looked good but was so rubbery I couldn't cut it, and the portions were like something for a baby. We had to go into town and buy food if we didn't want to stay hungry. The rooms are large and clean, the hotel looks modern and nice, and the pool has good views. But the other positives stop there. The service wasn't satisfactory, and staff seemed friendly only if you ordered a whole bottle of wine or spent money on drinks at the hotel. The sauna and massage were another shock: €30 for 30 minutes in the sauna and €80 for an 80-minute massage. I'd never come across a sauna that you had to pay for. For the price, I was very disappointed. This doesn't deserve five stars, or even three. Absurd, I wouldn't recommend it.

Just got home from a fab week. The staff and service made the holiday, and everyone was so courteous. Thanks so much to Sophia at reception, Sophia in the bar and restaurant, Georgina in the Spa area, and the maid who looked after us with a smile. I had treatments with Stella and Christina, and both were really good. We had a wonderful time. Thanks, Patricia and Adrian Kelly.

When my pregnant fiance and I got sick, the staff stepped in straight away and helped with whatever we needed. Since she was feeling lethargic and couldn't eat much, the chef made food especially for us. The waiters were respectful and kept reassuring us to let them know if we needed anything. The front desk was just as helpful, always one call away to arrange things. We came for a summer holiday and were warmly welcomed with a complimentary drink. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. Maids came twice a day to clean and change towels and bedding. We really can't say enough about how grateful we are for the care we got. It showed us how much Cretan and Greek people care about family. We'd definitely come back, maybe with the baby 🤗

The rooms are spacious and modern, and being near the beach is the one real plus. Otherwise, the service was extremely poor. Staff didn't greet us, seemed out of their depth for a five-star hotel, kept trying to sell spa facilities after we said no, and left us to handle our own luggage. The pool wasn't clean and was cold. Our pool towel wasn't replaced, and we had to pay for coffee pods for the machine in our own room. I'd call the facilities four-star and the staff three-star. It didn't feel like a five-star hotel.
