Monarco ​executive ​rooms

The hostel was clean, well designed, and well maintained, and the service was great. The downside was the noise from people partying, even around 3 a.m. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Be sure to lock your unit door. Any keycard can open anyone's door. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The service wasn't great either: our smoke alarm went off for 3 hours straight, and they only came to shut it off after we called. My parents' ground-floor unit also had a shower drainage problem, and the water wouldn't go down. STAY AWAY.

My belongings are lost, and the way this was handled was really disappointing. After I checked out, I noticed I’d left swim shorts, clothes, and a phone charger in the room. I called that day and was told they’d look and get back to me, but nobody did. When I followed up the next day, they still hadn’t checked. Five days went by without an update. One staff member even raised their voice on the phone. It felt careless, disrespectful, and very unprofessional. I won’t stay here again or recommend it.

The room had a coffee machine and a marble bathroom, but the service, cleanliness, and support fell well short of the standards the property claims. On our first bathroom visit, water wouldn’t drain properly until we cleaned the siphon ourselves. The balcony facing the street collected a lot of dust and wasn’t cleaned until we asked. We stayed ten nights, and the room looked straight onto Thetis bar, where loud music carried on until early morning on most nights. We asked the Monarco property management to move us from room 5, but they refused, saying availability was limited. They also said the noise was only a weekend issue, which wasn’t true. No one from the Monarco team had warned us about the view or the disturbance before the booking began. Given how promising the photos and earlier reviews looked, our stay was a letdown.
