Spirit of the Knights is a boutique hotel in a wonderful corner of the maze of Rhodes Old Town. The building is more than 600 years old and has been restored with real care. It still feels authentic, from the pebble paving in the patio to the wooden beams in the rooms and shared spaces. The hosts are warm and easygoing, and they add a lot to the place’s charm. They can drive you from the parking area by the city walls into town, book dinner, and suggest places to go. We followed their tip to visit “Best Coast,” on the West coast of Rhodes. The archaeological sites weren’t crowded, the water was an impossible aquamarine, and the farm-to-table restaurant on the Wine Trail was not to be missed. It was the perfect way to spend our last day in Greece. Breakfast deserves a mention too. It’s made to order, with plenty of options from fruit and croissants to a Full English. Everything was delicious and served graciously. The yogurt and honey tasted like ambrosia, unlike any I’ve had before. Loved every minute here!

Breakfast was superb, and I definitely overdid it. The property is stunning, especially the calm courtyard, and my room was gorgeous, huge, and spotless. I didn’t want to leave. I’d originally booked another hotel, but it was horrible, a complete nightmare. At the last minute I booked here to escape that nasty, scammy place. Elena, the manager, was wonderful and kindly found room for me. Thank you for rescuing me from that gross hotel and giving me a slice of heaven!

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty to choose from, including fruit, yoghurt, eggs and a full grilled breakfast. The hosts were lovely, and the hotel is beautiful, right in the old city. The electric buggy ride from outside the walls was a treat for my boys, and for me too. Recommended!

The five of us stayed in the Crusaider suite. The bed was roomy and cosy, and our sons all slept together upstairs. Elena & Theodor were wonderful. They arranged a golf car for our arrival, for getting around, and for the airport. Breakfast was lovely too, and they sorted it out for us in advance.

The Ottoman suite had a fantastic, comfortable bed, and the room was serviced every day with fresh towels. There’s a peaceful courtyard garden for sitting or stretching out, plus a small hydro pool that’s very relaxing. The hotel itself is a beautifully rebuilt and decorated little place in the old town, surrounded by atmospheric narrow streets and squares. Elena and Duncan were friendly, helpful and attentive, always ready to make drinks. Breakfast had superb choices and the quality was even better. It’s a fantastic small B&B, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or book again.
