The pool was pleasant, with plenty of loungers, and our room had good space, a nice vanity, and a comfortable bed. We slept well each night. Still, I’m torn between three and four stars, so I’ve rounded up to four. We’d stayed here before and were back for six nights with my partner. Breakfast was dry, bland, and mediocre, so we skipped it after our first stay. The ants were a bigger problem: they got onto the bed and into our suitcases. I know that may not be the hotel’s fault, but it was unpleasant. When we asked for help, the receptionist said he’d put something down while we went to dinner, then brushed us off without an apology or explanation. We came back to dead ants scattered across the floor. We appreciated that something had been done, but seeing that after a meal wasn’t great, and we slept with them there until the cleaners came the next day. Even after that, we still found a few dead and live ants, though far fewer. Air conditioning costs €7 per night on top of the room tax and what we’d already paid. Since rooms are advertised as “with air conditioning,” it feels a little misleading to charge extra. The safe and fridge also cost extra, so we didn’t use them.

We spent 11 nights at the Aphrodite and had a lovely stay. Its position made it easy to get to the beach, bars, and restaurants, and our basic room was comfortable enough with a tremendous sea view. The staff were great. Dimitrius at the bar deserves a special mention for being attentive and friendly, and owner Panos was helpful and friendly in every way.

We got back from the Aphrodite about 10 days ago, and we’ve already booked visit number four after this being our third. The weather wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t matter much. People at the hotel and around Roda made the holiday special, and those we’d met before remembered our names, food preferences, and specific needs. Harry, one of the local taxi drivers, gave us a lovely few hours showing us viewpoints, vegetation, tavernas, olive groves, and local crafts using his knowledge of the area. Brilliant. At the hotel, the two reception men were great about checking everything was as we wanted and helping with even small things. Breakfast also ran smoothly thanks to our two cheeky, cheerful waiters, Spiros and Vasilos. Sorry if I’ve got the spelling wrong. We hope to be back.

The food was a real highlight. We ate dinner at the hotel every night, and the menu changed daily. Everything was delicious and fresh. The Vegetarian Pita at the pool bar was the best I’ve ever had, and the homemade smoothies were fantastic. Breakfast was more limited, but I’m not much of a breakfast person, so it suited me. We also rented a boat through Panos. He was attentive, gave us helpful advice and guidance, and made our time on the water a highlight. The lady looking after the pool was so warm and lovely that her hospitality alone makes me want to return. My fiancé and I stayed at Hotel Aphrodite in early May, and the whole visit was fantastic. It’s family-owned, traditional, and beautifully clean and tidy. The location is great, but the people were what made it special. Everyone was kind and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Corfu.

I booked a seven-night sea-view room with half-board for 15-22 June 2026, months ahead. It had free cancellation until 8 June, with payment due that day. Then, on 26 April, six weeks before payment was due, the hotel cancelled the reservation, saying the credit card was “non-authorized.” The card was valid and had enough funds, and my bank statement shows no attempt by the hotel to authorize it around the time of cancellation. They didn’t contact me by email or phone to sort out any payment issue first. I checked their website the same day and saw the room listed for about 25% more than my confirmed rate. I emailed and sent a WhatsApp message asking them to reinstate the booking at the original price. More than two weeks later, I still hadn’t received a reply through either channel. Very disappointing handling of a confirmed booking.
