Roda Beach Resort & Spa

The food was good, and the views were stunning. The beach was pleasant and had a great range of water sports, though the paddle boards were worn out and didn't feel five star. We skipped the freezing pool and didn't try the expensive spa. There were plenty of wasps around, and little seemed to be done about them. People were jumping around and couldn't eat outdoors, and two members of my family were stung. The resort may be eco friendly, but this needs more attention. The gym equipment was rusty and nothing like the website images, which was really disappointing. Other details also fell short of a five star standard: some room number signs were missing pieces, bathroom tiles were missing, and the pool tables were out of order. When an evening bus arrived, just one man was checking everyone in, and he seemed unhappy about it, so the process took a long time. It was a nice hotel in some ways, but to me it's a three star place, definitely not five.

Alexandra made check-in feel easy and personal. Even with the hotel busy, she took time to explain things, remembered our names and checked on us during the stay. She handled our requests quickly, with warmth and professionalism. Makram was just as lovely to have around, always upbeat and ready to help with restaurant ideas, activities or a chat in the evening. Both of them made a real difference. We'd booked Roda Beach at the last minute and had no idea what to expect, but the welcome and surroundings were better than we'd hoped. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable, and had what we needed. The beach is just a few steps away, with clear water, golden sand and lots of loungers. There was a good choice of food each day, too. The staff seemed happy to be there and made us feel looked after from the start, even though we'd booked so late. Thanks to Alexandra and Makram for making the trip so enjoyable. We left relaxed and grateful, already thinking about coming back. Even a last minute stay felt like a treat.

I work in hospitality as a deputy operations manager, and I was really impressed by Roda Beach. Running a resort this large is no small job, but the team are doing an amazing job. The facilities and food were excellent, and staff across the bars and restaurants were lovely, friendly and professional. The animation team was great as well. A big thank you to housekeeping. The woman working on the third floor of the main building, in the rooms numbered 850 and above, was so lovely and a real credit to the team. I’m already recommending the resort to friends and colleagues. If you're thinking of coming to Corfu, I'd strongly suggest staying here. I look forward to returning with friends and family. We’re really disappointed. The hotel feels average, with scuffed surfaces and loose fittings in the rooms and main building. We’ve had ants in our room; staff responded quickly, but they only sprayed, and the ants keep coming back. The buffet is big but repeats the same dishes on both sides, so it gets samey, and the food overall is average. The à la carte meal wasn't great either. Our toddler does enjoy the pools, but the grass around the sunbeds is muddy and dirty, with cigarettes left lying about. There’s no Prosecco in the all inclusive, no coffee with dinner and no watermelon at breakfast. This doesn’t feel like a five star hotel, more like two or three stars at best.
