We ended on a high note when the hotel let us use one of the better rooms with the full caldera view on our last day. It was fantastic and felt worth the price, and the staff had been welcoming and kind throughout. But I wish the same fairness and clarity had been there from the start. I’d booked months ahead expecting a full caldera view, yet our room, advertised as “Caldera view,” only had a partial one. That wasn’t clear when I booked, and it felt misleading since it was listed and priced like the rooms with the iconic full view. At first, no solution was offered, which made an important trip feel less special than I’d hoped. I recommend confirming exactly which room and view you’ll get before booking.

Mythical Blue confirmed by email that we could cancel any time before September 22 without a fee, but they charged our card anyway and now insist the rate wasn’t fully refundable. We’d booked a fully refundable room, then found a better option on the island and tried to cancel. The website gave us no cancellation option, so we emailed instead. This hotel and its business practices are very unethical. Don’t stay here.

Mythical Blue charged me three months after agreeing by email that I could cancel, then refused to refund me. They claimed I hadn’t paid for the free-cancellation rate and even wrote, “we look forward to welcoming you in Santorini,” which felt like a tone-deaf joke. I’d paid for a fully refundable reservation, but after noticing that the stock photos didn’t match guest images or satellite imagery, I realized I’d been misled and decided to cancel. The website wouldn’t let me, despite the rate I’d paid extra for, so I emailed. They replied that it was no problem and said they were sorry I wouldn’t be staying. If you’re looking to be scammed by staying here, go ahead and book. If you want to be scammed without even staying, book anyway.

For our honeymoon, we booked the “Deluxe Suite with Hot tub and Panoramic View,” and it was one of the best rooms on the property. We had a private jacuzzi tub and sunbeds on our rooftop, with an amazing view overlooking Fira. The hotel also has an infinity pool looking out over the old port and Fira, which all guests can use. Shops and restaurants were a quick walk downhill, and Ilias and the team were helpful with every request. Breakfast was great each morning. We loved our stay at Mythical Blue Suites and highly recommend both the hotel and that room.
