Katina's House

We spent three nights at Katina and everything was OK for us. The owner was friendly and nice, and the rooms had what we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen. It's not a luxury place, but the price feels fair for what you get.

The garden area is spacious, with lots of things for kids to play with, and there are two outdoor kitchens that work well for groups wanting to BBQ and relax. The location is great for the beach, and there are covered garages for cars. We had a Budget Double Room, a good size for two, with its own kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped, and every apartment has a lovely big balcony. A few things let it down for me. The shower curtain didn't feel as sanitary as a glass door would, and cleaning could have been better. There was rubbish and what looked like toys from previous guests under the bed. Internet worked in front of the apartment, but not inside. I also thought it was a bit overpriced. Overall a good stay, apart from the wifi and cleaning issues.

It's a mostly quiet, family-oriented place, and the host was very hospitable. The rooms are decent for a fair price. Some have terraces on both sides of the house, so there's always one in the shade.

I stayed in late May, when the Vourvourou area was quiet, peaceful and uncrowded. The place is within walking distance of markets and restaurants, and close to some of the most attractive beaches on the Sithonia, Halkidiki peninsula. The sea was a little cold, but still swimmable. The landlords were very nice, and the rooms, beds and everything else were very clean. The Wi-Fi was a bit weak but usable. Both rooms had big Android smart TVs, which were heavenly, and there was a big refrigerator. The main letdown was the electric stove. It couldn't get hot enough to cook even scrambled eggs for breakfast. Maybe that's why there was a small picnic burner in a kitchen cabinet, which we ended up using. If you're staying longer and plan to cook simple meals, make sure to ask for a room with a properly working electric cooker, plus more pans and plates. You also have to take your garbage bag to the disposal point, about seventy meters away at the entrance. I'd sincerely stay here again. Thank you, Katina. Evharisto poli.
