Aeolian Gaea Hotel

The manager, Fokion, was a great help sorting out an issue with our rental car. We were upgraded to a two-room suite, with very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast selections were OK, and the landscaping could use some attention.

George was a standout, always attentive and ready to help with a smile, and the staff generally went out of their way to make us comfortable. My family and I loved the breakfast, which had an impressive range of options. The pool was spotless and well kept, with plenty of room for everyone to relax. The seaside and a variety of restaurants are only a five-minute walk away.

The pool was the best part for our kids, but otherwise this wasn’t a pleasant stay. Breakfast was average, and on several occasions some items were missing or unavailable. We were charged extra for beach towels. There was a coffee machine in the room but no capsules, and no coffee or sugar either. Ants in the room were a real turn-off. So was the owners’ parents telling my kids off in the pool for play fighting. When I raised several concerns, the owner said the hotel was run like an American hotel. Everywhere else we’ve stayed around Greece has included pool towels and coffee amenities in the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here 👎

Nikki, George, or Chris at reception will greet you with a smile and do their best to answer questions. The pool is lovely, and during our two-week stay it never got too busy. Nobody reserves the sunbeds here. The hotel and grounds are well maintained, and the breakfast buffet had loads of options, the best I’ve had. The walk to the beach and restaurants takes under 10 minutes. I’m only holding back the fifth star because the bath and shower hose attachment are outdated, and the sofa-bed covers are unattractive, like sleeping-bag material. The beds were comfortable, though, and the shower pressure was perfectly adequate.
