Tara Beach Hotel

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but spent time on the beach loungers. Two beds and an umbrella cost £12, with a bottle of water included. Cristina was a perfect host, friendly and welcoming, rushing around to look after everyone. One day I used the pool loungers instead because I’d forgotten my beach shoes. It was relaxing, with plenty of sunbeds. The hotel is on the main road facing the sea, two minutes from the strip, with lots of snack options and happy hour at 5 pm. If I return to Skala, I’d choose to stay here.

We’ve just come back from Tara beach, and after staying in hotels all over Skala since 2002, we’ll return here. Yannis was one of the most welcoming hosts we’ve met. Our family of four had rooms next to each other, and they were spacious, quiet, modern, and had everything we needed. The pool was great for our kids, aged 10 and 13, and the pool bar served good food, drinks, and snacks at reasonable prices. Breakfast was the letdown, very basic with little variety, though the coffee was great. The hotel is right across from the beach and a short walk from the town centre. Remember that tourist tax and air conditioning cost extra, €9 a day for the air con.

This was our sixth visit to this beautiful hotel, and hopefully not our last. The location is stunning and the staff are amazing.

The rooms had recently been renovated and were cleaned daily, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Yiannis remembered all our names, which made the place feel like staying at his home. We spent the first two weeks of August at tara beach and didn't have a bad meal the whole time. Check out the manor house and Amos a little farther along the seafront. I'd recommend staying here.
