Poseidon Luxury Villa

The room stayed immaculate throughout our fantastic 10-night stay at Poseiden Villas. The staff were ready to help with anything, from arranging a hire car and sharing local information to organizing flowers for our wedding anniversary. I’d recommend staying here without hesitation.

We’re sorry to be leaving after a fantastic 10 nights. The hill up to the hotel isn’t much fun, but the views make it worthwhile. The place is lovely, and George, Maria, and Nikos all went above and beyond. We’d highly recommend staying here. Thanks for having us.

The cleanliness was very poor. The glasses had fingerprints and stains, and there was visible grime on the shower door and walls. The listing also gave a very different impression from the stay: we could hear the neighbors, even when they showered, despite the room being advertised as soundproof. Light came through the curtains very early, and the noisy air conditioner above the bed blew cold air onto our heads, glowed all night, and beeped unpredictably. The terrace jacuzzi had no bubbles and was only lukewarm, while its automatic cleaning cycle switched on every hour, including at night. The balcony wasn’t really private either, just separated from the neighboring units by a thin bamboo divider, so we could hear and see people next door. After one sleepless night we wanted to leave. The manager wouldn’t speak with us in person or by phone. When I reached her through the after-hours number, she yelled at me and refused a full refund. She eventually gave us a partial refund, leaving us charged nearly 500 euros for that one night. Booking.com later refunded us after I filed a complaint. We felt we might have been completely scammed otherwise. We came to Poseidon Villas expecting peace, comfort, and privacy, and left with a very different experience. The manager seemed inaccessible, rude, and unprofessional. Afterward we moved to Niso apartments. If you’re looking for a perfect place to stay, I can very much recommend Niso.

The hill is a bit of a climb, but we were happy to make it for those views. It’s around a 6-minute walk to the start of town and 12 minutes to the port at the far end. We stayed in the block opposite reception, in a room that looked newly built or renovated, with modern lighting and AC controls, fancy switches, and understated, upmarket decor. We even had two balconies, one east-facing and one west-facing. Breakfast was plentiful, with enough variety to enjoy each day. The pool was refreshing, the loungers fairly comfortable, and towels were provided poolside. You could order drinks to your lounger too. George ran a good bar and was super friendly, as were the cleaners and kitchen staff. We only tried lunch once, and it was good. The staff were so friendly and helpful, Nicholas even ran out to carry our bags. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
