Skiathos Thalassa Philian Collection

My best friend and I went to Theros Hotel Skiathos for her birthday and had an amazing time. Everyone working there was kind, helpful, and proactive, and they remembered us from one day to the next. That was the best hotel service I've ever had and made the trip feel extra special. The hotel is right by the water, a perfect beachside break, with a short walk of about ten minutes to central Skiathos and fifteen minutes to the ports. The facilities were stylish, modern, and recently updated, and the restaurant food was delicious.

Would I stay at Thalassa Cape Theros again? Yes, in a heartbeat. The location is perfect, right on the beach, and town is a manageable walk away, though there's a hill on the way. We asked for a quiet room on a lower floor and got one with tasteful decor and useful features, including a hairdryer, fridge, TV, power shower, and a quiet balcony. Towels were supplied in the room and for the pool and beach sunbeds. The team are a credit to the Philian Collection. Reception explained everything in a friendly, professional way, including the porter service. At Achinos, Christo and Penny helped make our stay enjoyable. Anastasia took great care of the sunbeds, and housekeeping was efficient and pleasant. Breakfast had a huge selection: cereal, juice, tea and coffee, pastries, cakes, salad, cheese, ham, fruit, cooked food like bacon, sausages, beans, tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms and Mediterranean vegetables, plus bread, spreads and yogurt. They also made an omelette to order. We enjoyed the food at Achinos too, especially the pork with celeriac mash. In the early evening, after the sunbeds were cleared, we lounged on beanbags on the beach with cocktails and chill-out music from the DJ.

This was our second visit to the Thalassa Hotels. The modern facilities were clean, and the staff were friendly. Anastasia on the beach deserves a special mention for looking after us every day and staying calm and warm in the heat. The location is terrific for beach lovers, with easy access to the main town.

The food was so good, I'm glad I booked half board. The restaurant looks out over the beach, with yachts bobbing in the water making a lovely backdrop. From the airport pickup through to the day I left for another hotel in the group, the staff were incredibly kind. Nothing was too much trouble, and they clearly wanted me to enjoy my stay. I absolutely did, and I'll definitely be back.
