Lagou Raxi Country Hotel

The room was unbearably warm because the air conditioner was locked at 24°C, and the beds had old spring mattresses that were awful to sleep on. Service was just as bad. Staff were rude and unhelpful, and when we raised the water outage and the fact that we couldn't flush the toilet, the manager laughed at us and suggested we shower with a bucket. Water was out for several hours on two separate days. We found the attitude dismissive and disrespectful, and would strongly advise people to avoid this hotel. It wasn't the comfort or service we expected.

The water problem made us leave a night early and pay for another hotel ourselves. For three full days there was no running water at all, so we couldn't shower, use the toilets, wash our hands, or brush our teeth. Management responded with sarcastic suggestions to wash in the pool or use a bucket instead of offering a real solution. It was stressful, unhygienic, and showed no respect or responsibility. We strongly don't recommend staying here.

I'm adding to my review after the manager's response. If you look at my reviews, you'll see I give five stars when they're deserved, and I also say when something isn't right. Pool hygiene should be basic. Rain and temperature don't explain it. I've stayed at many hotels around the world in tougher climates than Greece, and this is the first time I've seen a public pool kept in such poor shape. The cloudy water was so murky we couldn't see our feet, and there was green algae along the edge. It's a shame, especially in tourist season. There were other maintenance problems too, like missing cement, paint that hadn't been redone, and broken sunbeds, though I didn't mention those before. Instead of replying to Google comments, please make the pool look decent and keep it hygienic.

The children suffered, and the whole trip was spoiled. We couldn't go to the beach or do activities because we were trying not to sweat. For three days there was no tap water for washing our faces, showering, or flushing the toilet, so we ended up using the pool or another building to shower. We left the night before, without compensation for the outage. The owners and manager failed to provide basic service, refused a refund or compensation, and the manager wouldn't give us an answer or engage with what had happened. Their attitude was humiliating and unpleasant. Don't be fooled by the pictures.
