Mystras Inn

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was lovely, comfortable, and a great base for visiting the Mystras archaeological site. Breakfast was excellent too.

We thought the meal here was the best we had in Greece, and my whole family loved the food. Sophia, one of the owners, made sure we felt welcome and looked after. Everyone we met in Mystra was warm and hospitable. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the location worked well for visiting the ancient Mystras Castle and ruins. The service was outstanding. Really enjoyed the comfortable, amazing rooms and the place itself. Breakfast felt a little budget, though, and the coffee was very weak.

We had a relaxing, enjoyable stay and thought it was great value. The inn is run by two brothers and their wives, and you can see the care in the details. The restaurant worked well for lunch and dinner, with excellent food and service. We especially liked sitting on the square, inside or out, on a beautiful day. Breakfast comes with the stay and includes excellent coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Mystras Castle is just up the road and is well worth exploring for its history. They can take you to the upper entrance, from where it's about a 20-minute walk to the top. On the way down, you'll reach the lower entrance, and you can call to be picked up. I'd suggest going in the morning, before it gets hotter and busier. The gate opens at 8:00 a.m. There's also one of the country's oldest working monasteries, which you can walk through, and you may get to speak with one of the nuns. We used Google translate with a couple of them, and they were very friendly. We'll come back to this Inn someday. 🇬🇷
