For an Athens layover, I just needed somewhere to sleep for the night. This was a great choice, especially compared with paying €400 to stay at the airport. The neighborhood felt safe, the room was clean, and Athens Airport was only a 10-minute Uber ride away. I also found a nice little Taverna about a 10-minute walk up the road. The money I saved was the best part, and I’d stay here again.

These are simple rooms near the airport, nothing special but not terrible either. Still, be very careful with your belongings. I left my sunglasses in the room and asked whether they’d been found. They said yes and told me they’d keep them safe for me. A few days later, they said they had no idea how my expensive sunglasses had gone missing or been stolen. They were disorganized, clueless, and chillingly indifferent, and refused to take responsibility for losing them. Seriously, stay away.

Our flight from Greece was canceled, so we needed a nearby hotel. This place is completely self service, with literally no staff on site. You’ll need a taxi to get here from the airport, and the closest restaurant is a 15-minute walk away.

The bed was comfortable and the price was good, so this was an okay place to stay near the airport. We booked two nights to avoid checking out, but we were woken up for checkout anyway. The bathroom was minimal. There was a fridge and coffee machine, but no drinking water, just tap water supplied in a bottle in the fridge. It’s a 10-minute drive to the airport, and it was easy to find an Uber. I’d recommend it if you just need a bed while waiting for your flight.
