Bay's Hotel

I rarely leave a negative review, but the staff were very unhelpful when they wouldn't let us stay in our room with our dog. We understand they have a strict no-dog policy and that we made a mistake. Still, they handled it badly and showed no compassion, leaving us completely on our own. All they said was, “It is your responsibility.” We had to figure something out ourselves, which caused us a lot of worry and stress.

I stayed in summer 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. The rooms are good, with air conditioning and a fridge, and towels and beds are changed daily. Soap and other basics are provided. The new room we stayed in, in the newer part, in 2022 was lower quality. The pool is fresh and has a well-equipped shower and plenty of seating. The pool bar is reasonably priced, and the pool stays open around the clock. You can bring your own food and drinks, and cold drinking water and towels are provided. When I collected my food and beer, they even gave me a chilled glass. The pool staff are friendly, and the service makes you feel very well looked after. They also have restaurant contacts, so meals can be delivered quickly. Breakfast is generous, freshly served at the table rather than from a buffet, and you can ask for extras. Many hotels in Spetses cost more and don't include breakfast or a pool. My parents were welcome to join us for breakfast without being charged, which felt like old-fashioned Greek, Spetsiotiko hospitality. It's a 12-minute walk to Dapia, 10 minutes to Agios Mammas, and about 5 minutes to the main road. The hotel is a little way up the mountain, but there's nature and quiet, which is nice on busy weekends. The staff are extremely helpful and want you to leave happy. If you want to rent a moto, arrange it through the owner. Shops charge 20 Euro's for a day, while he gives you 24 hours, looks after you, and avoids the shops, contracts, and fuss. It's a superb place to stay. I don't think 7-island or Zoë's Club are worth their very high prices for the standard they offer. Book Bay's and you'll be happy. They also make beautiful woodwork icons of the Holy Armata of Spetses, a lovely gift to take home.

Alexis picked us up at the port and gave us a quick introduction to the island, with places to see and visit. He was always smiling, kind, and very friendly. The owner was helpful too, and they let us keep the room until our boat left. Our room was spacious and clean, with a new A/C unit and good beds. The pool was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good and fairly priced, not a rip-off. We had an amazing experience. Thank you, Bays hotel!

There's a poolside bar where you can order breakfast or get coffee, beer, and other drinks. The pool is open until 9 p.m., and you can arrange to rent a motorcycle through them, which was a real highlight for me. The room also had a spectacular view. We arrived very early and called to ask about check-in. They said we could come right away and sent a car to collect us from the port. Everyone was gentle and polite, and the room was clean and tidy, with daily cleaning service.
