We arrived late with the kids and had to stay the night because we were travelling, but then cancelled the rest of the booking and left. Both structures were in a terrible state. The villa had broken furniture, a sticky, dirty kitchen, and moldy bathrooms. It smelled strongly of smoke, and the fabric covers and window treatments were dusty and dirty. Outside, the property was run down, with rubbish and debris everywhere. There were also two very sick cats by the door, apparently able to get into the house, judging by the indoor smell and their waiting to come in. This was disgusting and not something I wanted to see on vacation.

There’s plenty of space, and the bathrooms were clean and well equipped. The mountain setting in Spili is beautiful and peaceful, with your own swimming pool.

The spotless pool and covered barbecue area were great, with room to sit there whenever we wanted. The house is spacious and beautiful inside, set on a mountain slope with views across the whole village. The space was kept clean, and we got prompt sheet changes. The owner was ready to answer questions and help with whatever we asked. Spili itself is one of the prettiest villages in the Rethymno area, with running water and traditional cafes in the square beneath the plane trees. I was thrilled with the stay and will definitely book here again when I return to Crete. Thank you very much!
