George’s two dogs were a big part of what made the trip special. Our kids played with them all day, and during Easter George generously shared his feast with us: grilled meat, salad, and Koukouvagia, a traditional Cretan dish with barley rusk, fresh tomato, cheese, and olive oil. The apartments were clean and only a short walk from the beach and rental shops. This was our first time staying with a host instead of in a regular hotel, and it turned out to be amazing. Our family of four arrived close to midnight last May, and George came to meet us himself. The kids were tired and hungry, and he surprised us by making them a delicious omelet with fresh watermelon. Since we didn’t know the area yet, finding food that late would have been frustrating. We loved our stay, and just this morning, making an omelet for the kids brought back those lovely memories. George and his dogs made our holiday. He welcomed us so warmly, gave us loads of tips, and even showed us around himself. We’d love to return! The apartments were fine for our week and good value for the price. For a longer stay, I’d probably look elsewhere, since the cleaning could’ve been more thorough. The location is fantastic, almost on the beach, with lots of shops nearby. There’s also a taxi rank close by, so getting to other cities is easy.

We had to leave a bad hotel, and Georges took us in straight away. He was so helpful, and the apartment was clean. He even drove us to Heraklion once, and the BBQ was delicious too.
