Balance Accommodation

The owners were polite and thoughtful. During our 15-night stay, they offered us a larger room for free after the first day, and they brought us gifts from olives and red wine to apples and tomatoes from their garden every day. The place is brand new, with tasteful design and quality furnishings. It's quiet but still not far from the center, and the good beaches are all in that direction, so the location worked well. We'll definitely return next year and recommend a stay here.

I wouldn't stay here again. Last year we booked through Booking.com and drove from Bursa/Turkey. When we reached Alexandropouli, fires in the region had led police and soldiers to close all the roads, so we couldn't get to the property. We contacted the owners, who said they couldn't refund us but that we could stay any time the following year, 2024. We have that agreement in writing. For this year's booking, we sent many emails, and Booking.com called more than ten times. They answered only once to ask what dates we wanted. We gave them 02.09 and 09.09, but heard nothing further. When I called today, someone told me the fire had nothing to do with them because it wasn't there. I reminded him they'd written that we could come whenever we wanted, and he replied, “This is not our business,” then hung up. I called back and explained again. This time he said they were fully booked, but I'd checked the booking status and seen three rooms available for our preferred dates. He hung up again. In my view, the way they handled this was dishonest. Please don't trust them or stay here.

The rooms were among the cleanest I've seen on my travels, and they come with a good range of amenities. The staff are very hospitable, and there's a lovely view over Strymonikos. Balance Accomodation is a rising star in the area, and I'll definitely visit again for a relaxing stay in Stauros.

The rooms all look out over the sea, and ours felt very modern with all the amenities. A lovely hotel, and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
