This might work for one night if you need to be near Chania Airport, which is 15 minutes away by car with no traffic. Without a car, it’s impossible to get around, and even the nearest beaches can’t be reached on foot. The cottage had lots of insects and several technical problems. There was no light upstairs, the shower drain was completely broken, and we had to pull out loads of disgusting hair to use it. The bedroom AC didn’t work. The host’s English was very poor, and they don’t use WhatsApp or other practical apps. On top of that, the noise from both planes and the street was unbearable. The online photos are heavily filtered, and the place looked very different in reality. The furniture was dark, the closets very old, and the bedroom depressing. Booking this accommodation was a huge mistake for us.

The hosts are so sweet and shower you with local treats, like fresh eggs from their chickens and stuffed vegetables. The house is tucked into the hills, with gardens that melt your heart and a view that immediately brings peace and joy. It’s incredibly well built and maintained, with a double bedroom and a lovely mezzanine bedroom, which we preferred. I’ll stay again and highly recommend it.

We spent a week in the house and really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were friendly and very nice, and the house had everything we needed, plus a lovely garden and balcony. There’s a supermarket and restaurant not far away. Highly recommended!
