We’ve visited this beautiful village five or six times and met plenty of good, hospitable people, but this hostess was unacceptable. We were two families with one child each, aged one and two, and had booked two rooms for October. Although we arrived around 2 pm, the rooms weren’t ready, so we waited an hour in the square with the children. One room was fine. The smaller one smelled, and it didn’t have the kitchen the hostess had said was needed to prepare the children’s meals. It was actually in the hallway outside the room, which she hadn’t mentioned. When we asked about WiFi, she said it was in the village square. We also didn’t get breakfast on the second day because she had other work and no time. At checkout, she said she didn’t give receipts and claimed, “I am Airbnb.” We hadn’t booked through a platform: we saw the rooms on gites.fr, called the listed number, and reserved by phone. She didn’t come to collect the money, saying she had work, and told us to leave it wherever we wanted in the house and go. It’s a shame that someone like this works in tourism.
