The view from my window was so good that it made the small issues easier to overlook, and for the price I’d happily stay again. Breakfast was good, the hostess was very polite, and the radiator kept the room warm enough. I could also light the fireplace if I wanted. The historic building’s preservation rules mean limited door locking, and there was just one outlet for charging devices. I could hear other guests through the poor insulation. My window shutters wouldn’t lock because they needed lubrication, the bathroom door locked only from the outside, and the mattress could be better. I’m sure the owner will consider the suggestions.

The location is lovely, right at the start of the mapped hike and on the village edge, with great views. It’s about a five-minute walk to the center, and there’s parking across from the hotel. The hosts were kind, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean, but we could hear the person next door talking quite loudly on the phone and getting up during the night, so bring earplugs. The sofa bed wasn’t comfortable, despite being described as suitable for sleeping. Breakfast was meant to be available from 08.30, but wasn’t ready until 08.55. Not a deal-breaker, though we wanted to start hiking early and the wait delayed us quite a bit. I’d suggest setting breakfast out earlier, especially in warm weather when hikers need an early start. A small freezer for water would also be useful when exploring the area.

Elona was so welcoming and made a wonderful breakfast. Having firewood ready for the room’s fireplace was a lovely touch, and the place is especially convenient if you need parking. It’s a really enjoyable hotel and, to me, the best option in the area.
