Gartagani Guest House

The view was the room’s best feature. The room itself was basic but fine, and the owner’s mother was lovely. We were on a walking trip, where each accommodation was meant to provide a packed lunch. After breakfast, once we were ready to leave, we asked for ours. The mother handed us the phone to speak with her son, the owner, who said the packed lunch was part of breakfast. That might have been fine if we’d known before eating everything. The other tables, whose guests weren’t on walking trips, had been served exactly the same breakfast.

We stayed at this wonderful guest house in May, both on our first and last night in the region while hiking the Menalon trail. The host couldn’t have done more for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was huge and delicious, with enough left to serve as lunch. I’d definitely stay again next time we’re nearby.

We had a great time, largely thanks to a host who was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean, and well insulated, and there’s a cool shared lounge with couches and coffee and tea. Breakfast was good, with a nice mix of fruit, honey, and cheese sandwiches.

A short path takes you to the main square, and the traditional house has lovely views over the village. The rooms are spacious and clean, and breakfast was delicious.
