Ammes Apartments

A simple, traditional Greek apartment in a really handy spot, and one of my favourite stays in Svoronata. Anna took great care of us and answered all our questions. At the bar, George and Isabella were always smiling and the snacks were fabulous. Isabella’s pizzas are legendary, absolutely incredible. We also had a great meal at OMilos with Fondas. It felt like a proper Greek family holiday, and we’ll definitely be back next year 😊

We were staying somewhere else and came across the pool bar on a walk. It’s on the coastal road, with a nice sea view, and there are a couple of eateries farther along that we didn’t try. The pool area was clean and welcoming, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols available if you bought a drink, which seems fair. Music played all day in the background without being too loud. You can sit by the pool or enjoy the sea view from the bar, and the staff were friendly. The only possible drawback is the flight path over the bar and hotel, since planes are on final approach. It didn’t bother us, but it might put some people off.

I love this place. The setting is perfect for watching the sunset, and the rooms are a good size with decent equipment. It looks like they’re being updated to a good standard. Planes come in very close overhead, which I personally enjoy. I’d recommend it.

The room is clean and stylish, but the taps leak and the shower and toilet are rusty, so bring seals. We killed ten mosquitoes on the first night, so pack repellent. Planes didn't disturb our sleep, since the last ones land at 22:15.
