Casa Lanoi

Syrrako is my favorite town, and I enjoyed every day I spent there. The lodging was nice.

We paid 85 euros a night for one room booked through booking, and stayed just one night. It was on the ground floor, only a meter from the main entrance, so we could hear everyone coming and going. The bathroom was tiny. The shower was about 1 by 1, with a curtain, and the toilet was tucked under the stairs. When you sat down or stood up, someone had to stand up too. The TV was a small computer screen, and it took three phone calls to the owner before it worked. It's a shame, because the ground-floor room we got would have been better suited for storage and wood. If you book, pay attention to which room they put you in.

We stayed three nights in a comfortable family room on the top floor, almost beside the village's upper entrance. The windows had internal shutters that closed out the light completely at night. From them we could see both the mountains and the village. The radiators could stay on all day, hot water was available almost all the time, and there were enough cooking utensils for a couple. The bed was quite satisfactory. The owners were discreet and quick to help whenever we needed anything. A few things could be improved: the pillows need replacing, and the bathroom foam could be swapped for something else since it didn't foam at all on the sponge. The bathtub was hard to use in that narrow space. There were only two outlets in the main room, and one was by the bed.

Thanasis made sure we had everything we needed during our stay at the hospitable Cara La noi. Breakfast had clearly been thought through down to the last detail, with homemade sweets, local eggs, rice pudding, and homemade grape jam. Mrs. Klairi, Thanasis' mother, makes the most delicious cake I've ever eaten. I highly recommend staying here.
