The best thing about this property was its location: about 25 minutes from chania and closer to elafonisi Beach and falasarna. The nearby town was small and quiet. But this was described as a villa, and it isn’t one. It’s a private home in the village, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting a villa experience. We lost power twice while we were there. When we called the property manager, he brushed it off as something that happens in a village, which was disappointing for a place costing $500 a night. For a group of 10, we were given only two extra rolls of toilet paper and no extra bath towels. The air conditioner in the one bed room didn’t work. When we complained, the property manager came right over and said it worked, just needed time. We shut the door, waited an hour, and the room was still hot. We ended up moving the beds into the living room so the kids could sleep comfortably. I’m a refrigeration tech, and I know this is my area of expertise. That response insulted my intelligence.
