The breakfast was something else. It would make an Auschwitz breakfast look five-star. We were told not to leave towels on the bathroom floor because the dirt there was staining them 🤣🤣. You really have to stay here to understand how awful it is. In my 34 years, this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Enjoy your stay 👍🏽

I’ve stayed at Hotel Philoxenia on and off since it opened in 2011, for both short and long visits, and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Thebes. It’s gorgeous and peaceful on the edge of town, with a lovely pool and plenty of parking. Town is only a two-minute drive away, so you can enjoy Thebes without the noise keeping you awake. The owner is hospitable, which seems fitting for a place called “Philoxenia.” Highly recommend.

The owner is such a nice person that meeting him makes you fall in love with Greece for good. This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited, and everything you’ve heard about Greek hospitality is true.

I’ve been to hotel philoxenia several times over the years, and it still feels as cozy and comfortable as it did on my first visit. It’s remarkably clean and tidy, in a quiet, green setting, and the larger-than-life patron runs it professionally. Keep it up!

A really nice setting, with large outdoor spaces and a lovely big pool. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, and the hotel is away from the city noise while still close to the center and easy to reach from the main roads. It has modern exterior and interior design. A nice 3-star place, and the best hotel in Thebes.
