Athlos Hotel

Coming back from Mount Athos, I found the staff especially kind and willing to help. The room was impeccable and the facilities very clean. It’s close to the airport, and getting to the city center by cab was inexpensive. I’d happily stay here again.

Free parking was a real bonus, and the breakfast was excellent. My room was very clean, too, and everyone on staff was super friendly. Had a great stay and would definitely come back.

I was traveling alone as a woman and felt comfortable walking around, even though the area didn’t seem that way when I first arrived. I never felt unsafe. I like walking and used Google Maps, so I covered about 3 miles on the first day and 10 miles the next. The Waterfront is right there, and I found good food and coffee, with places where I could sit and read my book. Maiami, a delicious restaurant by the water, was a mile and a half from the hotel. It was hard to find a breakfast place with a restroom, which I needed. The beds were comfortable, and there was a little fridge in my room, but some things need repair. The staff are friendly, though they don’t know much about the area or what it has to offer. I wouldn’t rate this as a four-star hotel, though I probably paid three-star prices. A taxi from the airport cost me €15.

The breakfast barely qualifies as continental, and it’s a long way from a Greek breakfast. I definitely wouldn’t rate the hotel as four-star.
