Hotel Rex

The rooms were okay, and the customer desk staff were helpful and polite, but the noise was too much. People were noisy after midnight, and the rooms aren't soundproof, which made things uncomfortable for other guests. The location was so-so.

Breakfast was the biggest surprise. The room was about the size of an ordinary Russian apartment kitchen, and there was no staff around. We had to climb onto a chair to get an electric kettle from a cabinet, then go into the kitchen to fill it from the tap and boil water for all the foreign tourists. The Rex Hotel is very close to the railway station and seems unremarkable at first, neither good nor bad. But the bed felt like a barracks, with a rough, soldier-like blanket and no duvet cover. That's about all the impressions I have.

Pretty decent. I use it whenever I'm in Thessaloniki. It's €32.50¢ a night for a single room, plus €5.00¢ per person for breakfast. It's really a transit hotel for commuters and travelers, and it works for that purpose. Could use a few small improvements, nothing major.

A very nice, peaceful place, and finding parking was easy.
