Sun Beach Hotel Thessaloniki

This felt like an 80' s hotel that had seen better days, with no maintenance for a long time. The place smelled bad, doors were broken, stains were everywhere, and there were yellow parts in the bathroom. Even the drinks served in cans were dirty. We left and spent the night somewhere else.

Nice beaches are close by, but Thessaloniki is 40 minutes away, so the location isn’t great. The Hotel is good value for money and very nice overall. The furniture is the main thing that needs work, since it’s clearly quite old and could use a proper revamp.

The elevators were a big hassle: very small and slow, and often crowded, so waits got long, especially at busy times. The rooms were disappointing too, small and outdated, with renovation needed. Cleanliness was acceptable, but nothing impressive. Staff were polite, though not especially attentive or helpful. The location may be convenient, but the stay didn’t meet expectations and felt more like a budget option than advertised. I wouldn’t choose it again.

We had a lovely stay, especially thanks to the kind, friendly, helpful staff. Aggeloslemonas in particular touched us and felt like a close friend. The hotel has spacious, fully equipped rooms, a great breakfast, and a nice pool area. Pool and beach towels are free, and the nearby beach isn’t crowded and has free sunbeds.
