The Oscar Olympic Hotel

The location made it easy to get around Thessaloniki and enjoy the city. We also felt genuinely valued by the staff, who were kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning, with fresh, varied food presented beautifully. We had a wonderful stay, and everything was top-notch from start to finish.

The rooftop dining area was a lovely place to start the day, with a view over the city. I stayed for two weeks and enjoyed the quiet rooms, good location, tasty breakfast, and friendly team. The staff were especially helpful with local suggestions, quick to answer messages about my reservation, and reassured me that my late arrival on the first night was fine. I enjoyed it so much that I feel I should have come back here.

We were very happy with our two-night stay. The room was soundproof, as other reviewers mentioned, and the comfortable bed made it easy to relax. The staff were always smiling and ready to help. We especially appreciated being allowed to wait in the hotel’s common area for a few hours before our coach took us home.

The shower drain was the one real problem: it flooded a bit after each use, and although a plumber came to look, it wasn’t fixed during our stay. As a kind gesture, the staff offered us a bottle of wine. Breakfast was more modest than at similar hotels we’ve visited, though the coffee was excellent. We also found it a little restrictive that coffee cups couldn’t be taken from the breakfast lounge to our room, perhaps because of a maintenance policy. The rest of the hospitality at the Oscar Olympic felt carefully thought out. Its mid-century decor is meticulously curated. We got a complimentary upgrade to a larger room because it was ready before the one we’d booked. Anastasia and the reception team handled requests warmly and efficiently, and often anticipated what we needed. They brought us an umbrella when an autumn shower caught us out, and extra bags of chamomile tea along with an extra towel.
