Gaia Village

The food was atrocious, and several people in our group got sick from it. We spent more than expected eating out so we could get decent meals. The rooms were horrendous and weren't kept clean. Our family room had three adults and two children, and we felt packed in like sardines. For what it costs, you could get 1000% better elsewhere. All-inclusive also didn't feel all-inclusive, since better drinks and snacks beyond the few limited choices cost extra. Absolutely do not go to this hotel.

The pool area is lovely, though the sunbeds are much too close together. The location is great and the rooms are fabulous, but poor cleaning lets them down. Food choices are very limited, and at times there's not much to choose from. Drinks also cost extra after 11 p.m. It's such a lovely spot, but the room cleaning and food really bring the place down.

The restaurant was inconsistent. Some meat was undercooked and red in the middle, and we kept finding hairs in the food. When we told the wait staff, they just laughed and smiled. The room smelled strongly of sewage every evening, making us feel physically sick and nauseated, and it flooded when it rained. Reception responded with shrugs and eye rolls, and came across as rude, arrogant and hostile. Our room was misrepresented on the TUI website. It describes a two-bedroom room and shows a seating area, but doesn't say that the pictured area is made into a second bed. It isn't suitable for anyone other than close family: one bedroom is the main area with the bathroom, entrance and balcony, and you have to pass through it to reach the separate room. When we raised the issue, all we heard was, "we are fully booked." We usually book with Jet2 and have never had problems, but decided to use TUI this time. It seems to have been a mistake. Our complaint hasn't been answered, and the Rep just wants to sell excursions. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

There was plenty of space in the rooms and they were very comfortable. We enjoyed the resort, with a good choice of food available all day and okay drinks. The beach and main strip are nearby, with lots of bars, tavernas and shops. Thanks for the stay, we'll be back soon.
